She knew she had opened something she couldn’t close again. Once this hand touched her chin and forced her to look into his eyes she knew there was no going back. She kept his gaze and her attention focused on him.
“It is but it’s the truth.” She said keeping his gaze. The change in his demeanour would have have been terrifying to her when she was younger. Something told her not to back down and show weakness. If it was her stubborn nature or her longing to prove herself, it didn’t matter. She wasn’t going to give in.
“I’m well aware of that and I refuse to be seen as weak or useless. My father and Mother were good at showing me what happens when you’re too meek. I have responsibilities now and I refuse to let you or our village down. I won’t continue down that path, it means my ruin and death.”She said as her Byakugan activated. It was a bit surprising but she knew it did that whenever she was in danger or needed to stay alert.
She felt the hot breath on her as she stayed put. No one had ever been so close to her without her moving back to keep her distance. She was well aware of Kakimaru’s breath as well and she didn’t flinch. “I mentioned this because I want to be stronger, not just for Kumo but for myself and my descendants to come. I’m not giving up on myself, too many already have and I have been getting better at my abilities, I just need to hone them so one day I can teach them.” She said.
He could eat her and rightfully so but she wasn’t about to give into fear and give him a reason to shake her loose. She looked at him with a growing determination to stay within the pack. Of course she knew she was going to be put through hell but she knew it would be worth it. Her face changed from gentle and serene to a look that she was not backing down. Maybe she had been watching her mentors and she had decided to incorporate her own animalistic look. Half Bear and half Dog that had her acting differently because no one else had ever seen her like this.Kegawa Inuzuka
The current mission had her heart all a flutter with growing anxiety over the mere fact they were watching over a diplomat. She knew the importance of the mission and her her eyes would play an important role in this. Kegawa had his excellent sense of smell and his ninkin with him.
She wasn’t worried about them failing the mission as much as the exposure to her surrogate family should they be recognized by an enemy. After all she had no idea who this person was and who could be out there to harm them.
She kept her gaze out the window of the carriage as they moved along. It was her job to stay behind with the driver and keep Byakugan on so no one interrupted them or ambushed them.
She felt better about her ability since she had been training a lot with Kegawa. It wasn’t as good as her cousin Aiko’s but she was confident she could hold her own until back up came. She followed Kegawa as she kept her senses Sharp.
From where she sat gave her full advantage of her surroundings and the driver seemed reassured by her presence and the horses were heard snorting and their nickers were a pleasant sound to her.
When they stopped she waited with the driver and the horses as The Geisha entered the carriage. She has no idea Kegawa hadn’t mentioned her presence to her. She also didn’t know who the woman was and if she did it would have surprised her as much as Kegawa.

Bashira blushed a bit because praise and compliments were still new to her. “Thanks Kegawa-Sama, I was thinking that I’m going to be helping you shape lives so the least I can do is do research. I have different kinds of books for leadership.” She said smiling. Normally those kinds of books made her question her ability to be a good role model but she had a great teacher.
His question made her smile brightly as she looked to around. “I was thinking about deepening my relationship with everyone and I wanted to help you train our furry friends. Stealth and Suiton come to mind since I will need them during a crisis.” She said looking back to him.
Stealth was a big reason why she had problems with fighting in the first place. Going in undetected would give her the edge on her opponents. Her Byakugan was always making her anxious about having it.
Horror stories that her father had made up over the years had gotten to her. She was a bit embarrassed to admit but she was pretty sure he scared her siblings too. It was just the way her father taught them. Kegawa Inuzuka
Bashira’s eyes quietly moved to Hoshi as she became aware of the doctors eyes on her cousin. A familiar feeling swelled up from inside her heart. There was something wrong with the way the ‘good’ doctor was interacting with them.
She kept her gaze on him as he looked her over. Then he lead into their eyes. First warning Hoshi about protecting them and then how they were something to chase after.
She was still aware of their patient but as the suspicious substance took hold she felt the defiance was draining away. She gazed at Hoshi again. “It is something we have been known to be slaughtered for. Ours eyes and their unique abilities have always made us different and even at a young age we were warned about who we associated with. I truly hope we are safe because I know her sister, Aiko will be anxious to see her safely returned to her. I will be here to help her out and make sure she is back with Aiko-San at the end. I do trust her, I just want to be of service to not just you.” She said.
Hoshi was starting to get to her and even if the younger Hyuga wanted nothing to do with her, she would still keep her promise.

Bashira’s early morning routine usually had her up before day break to start her Suiton training. Predawn was her time to herself since no one was ever up. Her entire family were night owls and she was an early bird gets the worm kind of girl.
That and she could count on running into one or two of her favourite people for long talks or anything to do with dogs. The latter happened to be on the agenda since she had agreed to go on a walk and training combination with Kegawa.
Between Kegawa and Seiichi being her mentors, they were also surrogates for her own messed up family. They probably knew that they had become her family the second they got close.
Having them around made it easier for her to see her own potential and even when she wasn’t with them, they were there. They became the ones she associated with good memories and now that she was older it made it easier not to try and be like them.
She was her own person and she was grateful for that and them being there to remind her. She realized she was earlier than they had agreed on.
When Kegawa got closer he would see her actively involved in a book on pack mentality and how to be the best member that the pack needed. Usually it took a call of her name or a wave in front of her face to get her attention but she was alert this time. “Good morning Kegawa-Sama! I was just rereading this in case I ever needed to apply it to our own Platoon.”She said smiling.
She put her book away then stretched. Eager to get going. Kegawa Inuzuka
Bashira was thinking about how much she didn’t look anything like her cousins. The Hyuga’s genetics had a knack of skipping generations. The blue hair and fair skin she had gotten had been prominent in her ancestors but none of her living relatives safe her maternal grandmother had the looks of her family.
The clawed finger caught her off guard but she managed a smile as she complied. Holding his ankles was easier said than done. The patient had a bad tendency to kick. While the doctor was telling Hoshi to hold his wrists she focused on putting her strength into keeping him down.
The doctor had some sort of liquid in his syringe that gave her pause. She didn’t say anything about it but when he cried out she had so many questions. Maybe she would refer back to her medical books her great grandmother had kept from her own grandmother. If she didn’t see his method then she’d go by the book and make sure the care was there.
“I’m Bashira Hyuga and I’m from Kumogakure and it’s an honour to meet you. Hoshi, I’m glad I got to see you.” She said smiling. She was taken aback when Hoshi slammed his hands down.
She kept her eyes on his ankles after that outburst wondering what she was doing here. It made her feel bad about how the patient was treated but she was helping so she had no idea if it was her place to say something. Hoshiko HyugaKobashigawa Hirabayashi
Health care has always been a priority for Bashira. Nothing else came close to the need to help and keep her beloved village going. So delivering supplies and tending to the wounded came naturally to her. The very second she had heard of need in Zone 0, she was off. Now she was keeping busy with helping wherever she was needed.
One of the more critical patients who seemed to be panicking about their situation came to her attention and not surprisingly another Hyuga was here. Hoshi was a decade younger than her but she was as brilliant and observant as anybody else in her clan.
Moving to help her cousin get the poor man under control so the good doctor could help was easier said than done. His body was not ready to be staying in one place.
She held down his legs as she looked at Hoshi. “It’s going to be okay once we get him to relax.” She said trying to be friendly. She never wished an injury as grave as this on anyone. Her thoughts stayed on keeping him restrained. Even if he had tried to kick her a few times.
It wasn’t going to stop her from doing her best. Breathing in slowly kept her from feeling anxious every time he tried to jerk away. Part of her wondered how much of a sedative would work.
Her light Lavender eyes stayed on his legs as she put most of her strength into holding him down. Fear made a lot of people feel like thrashing around like a brainless beast, so when the odd jerk of his knees came too close to her eyes, she just moved her head out of the way.
Patience was needed when your patient was out of their mind. She looked at Hoshi for a brief time before she looked back at her job. She had many questions about her family outside of Kumo. Though it wasn’t the time to be thinking about anything else but the care of the patient.
Her questions could be answered any time and now she had to focus on not getting herself injured by accident. Hoshiko HyugaKobashigawa Hirabayashi
It had been unexpected but it was also a welcomed thing. Their Raikage wanted to maintain peace Kumo and Oto and she had been chosen with her favorite Bear-like man Seiichi. Having a platoon member that was also her senior made her feel good. The questions she had on why it was her was front and centre in her mind."Seiichi-Sama, was there a reason I was chosen to accompany you?" She asked as her lavender eyes focused on the the man beside her. It really didn't matter what the answer was. After being deployed to Seiichi's Platoon and discovering she fit in, her confidence had grown. she had slowly come to grips with being away from home.
Home. In all honesty anywhere Seiichi was that was her home. There was something about him that made her feel safe and wanted. Was this how a real father treated his offspring? Oh why did he have to pop up? He of course was her biological father. Her thoughts were easier to clear around Seiichi. The man was just grounded where she floated. It made sense since he was considered to be a bear in a man's body. What animal she was didn't matter at the moment.
She looked back at the sky as she marveled at how different it felt being out of Kumo. She felt happier and lighter. It was probably her mood since a lot had been going better for her. Was it actually easier to be happier in better company and away from her toxic family? She believed it. Stretching she looked back at Seiichi. "Looking forward to seeing how things go, it would be handy to train out here." She murmured.
A new training ground and ways to hone her skills outside of Kumo made her excited. There was something about learning new things and becoming a better version of yourself. She smiled as she stretched her arms. She felt a lot lighter and having more energy meant she could get more done. Had she been sleep walking through life until now? It made her wonder.
Shaking her head she grinned at her companion. "I know you won't go easy on me when we do train, I also wonder what it's like in Oto." She said tilting her head.
But it could turn into something if it was strong enough. Again she wondered if she was exactly like this cloud. That thought made sense to her.
She didn’t know her own capabilities. It made her wonder what she could do. She looked at the cloud again and she felt at ease watching it.
She had no idea why it soothed her so much. She had always liked clouds. It had nothing to do with her environment but she knew people would think that.
She began braiding her hair and put it in double braids. It was simple to keep them there. She needed to keep her hair away from her face.
Only one person could control their life and both had chosen their paths. She was choosing her own and she had no regrets in letting them self destruct.
She wasn’t them and they weren’t her. That was what her Grandmother had told her over and over. She once said smiling that everyone had a choice of what they became.
She smiled at this since she had always thought she never had a choice. Her grandparents had been active up until a couple years ago when they had to retire.
Both had known they had a duty to their grandchildren but only Bashira listened. Well she wasn’t sure if the others had ignored them. They were hard to read sometimes.
She squinted as she spotted a lone rain cloud out of the corner of her eyes. Interesting. She observed it. It wasn’t big enough to cause a storm.
She scanned her memory for any information on that Missing Nin she had been thinking about. Did she have that scar? She couldn’t remember since she was rarely seen.
She put her hands together as she looked at her gloves. Her circulation was not the best at times so the gloves her grandmother made for her came in handy.
She wondered how much of her genetics could be blamed for everything. She knew her parents had never been stable and that was on them.
They were stubborn, narcissistic and void of empathy and emotions. She shivered as she sat with it. She had tried to change things.
Now she knew she couldn’t and she wouldn’t subject herself to this any longer. She was responsible for her parents.
