Jun was born into a large family with too many mouths to feed. His father taught him to fish and sail but the young man dreamed of a better life. After begging his parents for months, they agreed to send him with a merchant caravan headed to Kirigakure. There he began his career as a Mist Shinobi where his sailing experience allowed him to excel as a lookout on a ship. Jun enjoyed his time at sea which was cut short when he was sent inland to defend against shinobi from the Hidden Cloud; he switched from sniping seagulls out of the sky to taking down enemy targets overnight. He did what he had to do to survive and defend his homeland. It wasn’t easy at first but he trained himself not to be too conscientious about his actions because making it from one moment to the next was all that mattered.
Jun became noticeably aloof during this time. His brother died during the war and after the conflict he married his brother’s widow. They had a child together within a half-year of their wedding and rumors flew through the village that the child may have been his brother’s son. He denied these rumors implying that their relationship began before the death of his brother. Their marriage was strained at the best of times but after a year-long infiltration mission in the land of lightning, he returned with a baby daughter. Unable to stomach his infidelity, they divorced and she returned home to the fishing village they’d both come from. His two children remained with their father in Kirigakure.
Jun is very independent, having worked alone quite often. He is efficient and gets the job done no matter how long it takes. There is a cold rationality and decisiveness to his actions. He is resourceful and patient but his level of skill brings with it a twinge of arrogance. Although, for the most part he very much lives in the moment with little regard for past successes or fear of future failures. He is merciless towards his targets and while no one would describe him as loyal, he is fiercely protective of his family, village, and team. He keeps his distance, allowing them to learn from small failures but always keeps a sharp eye on the horizon for approaching dangers. Despite his stoic nature, Jun can be quite charming when he needs to be and is generally well liked by his peers.

Jun has trained his body to be a weapon on its own; mindfulness and control of his physical form being necessary for both stealth and archery. The jounin does his best to take out his enemies before they know he is there but being a practical man he understands that close combat is more efficient at times and has trained to handle such situations.

Jun’s skill is not defined by any special bow; he is able to craft a simple replacement from scavenged materials found in nature. His true weapons are keen eyes and a deadly aim that is both accurate and precise. He knows what areas of the body to target and has the ability to hit them. His vast experience and near perfect timing allow him to accurately predict the location of a moving target and adjust his aim for forces that may affect the arrow over long distances like wind and gravity.

Jun is purposeful in every thought, speech, and action. He is fully present in each moment, being especially aware of his breathing when he draws back the string of his bow. He strikes decisively from a distance and only when necessary. He finds no use in rage and will not respond to taunts or threats of any kind. It is quite a feat to catch his movement with eye or ear and he takes special precautions to mask his scent with that of the environment around him. Jun seldom utilizes chakra for anything more than the basic academy techniques, making him difficult for even a sensor to differentiate from a civilian.

Over the years, Jun has picked up some sealing techniques for utility and convenience. This ability allows him to carry a large amount of arrows, extra weapons, and other common tools without compromising his ability to move stealthily. He is able to affect an area with a single arrow by attaching a scroll with additional arrows sealed inside. He is also able to activate explosive tags from a distance.
