[attr="class","APP3"]A step sounded loudly among silence, the deserted plateau showing heavy wear. The missing chunks of earth, the smears of not-yet-dried blood, the smell of death. Satoshi breathed in, his frame expanding as he continued forward. His gaze slid across the ground, another step forward as he exhaled.
The outcome of whatever the boy had described was not fantastic, by any stretch of the imagination. Assuming he had been telling the truth, and it was more than a small gang dispute. With a blinding motion, the Kage's eyepatch flipped upwards, chakra rippling through the side of his face as his Byakugan bulged awake.
Faint traces of chakra lingered, heavy in the stone statue of... A faint tilt of the goliath's head as a hand brushed against it, the empty shell of earth solid - even for his strength. A faint look of concern would've flashed across a lesser man's face, but not Satoshi.
Turning back around, his eye quieted, the eyepatch falling back down into place. "Nothing important. A worthless tombstone." The man decreed to no one in particular, the faint shadow of a white cloak bowing in the distance before disappearing. There would be no bodies reported - not officially. No record of conflict.
[attr="class","APP3"]Silence replied to the genin, the towering man's gaze holding on the boy. A nod as an eye closed, gesturing towards the door. "Then you may leave."
As the boy saw himself out, Satoshi maintained his stare, watching stilly as the doors came to a close. A stream of air found itself expelled, Satoshi's arms stretching to his side. With a pop of his shoulder, a slight shrug followed as he turned away from his desk. Gripping the edge of his ceremonial robes, the fabric would tug off easily, the many hands of his seemingly invisible servants neatly organizing it on top of his desk.
Stepping forward, the window behind his desk opened, and the man stepped out, and into the city-state proper - a foot hitting open air, and the man appearing in the streets below. For a moment, the Kage was among his people, and then he was gone.
[attr="class","APP3"]There was no change in composure from the man as he listened, seemingly ignoring the child in favor of his meticulously kept and organized law ordinance. When Itaru had finished, Satoshi's eye turned back to him, peering up from his craned position. "Did any of it seem dangerous?" his tone was curt - almost comforting, in a bed of nails sort of way.
The particular document the man had dredged out of thin air was the seventh of twenty-two accumulated treatsies, cease-fires, and other miscellaneous errs in territorial disputes. Largely, it covered the duration of time in which un-allied forces could occupy land without being opposed. 'Wanderer's Law', as the commonfolk might know it. The particulars were more stringent than he had hoped.
Not that the boy would notice.
"Unless there are iminent danger of life- the word punctuated the air, not unlike a punch; "-then I cannot act quickly." An implied 'You understand, don't you?' hung in the air, although it was never spoken aloud. Good little soldiers rarely need be told how to act in the village hewn from stone, after all.
[attr="class","APP3"]"Rain shinobi." the words held onto the air longer than they should've, a deep sigh reaching into Satoshi's chest, pulling out emotions that the child would be incapable of parsing; only incredible unease filling the air between them.
An arm swiveled from behind the man's back, extending an open palm towards thin air. A servant, dressed head to toe in white, seemingly materialized from thin air with a bow. "Territory breach laws, sub division... Seven." A hurried nod from the ghostlike figure, dissapearing as suddenly as they had appeared. Turning back to the boy, he motioned with the freed hand, gesturing towards a seat in front of his desk.
"How did you identify these shinobi? Specific features." another command, reaching once again into seemingly thin air, retrieving a scroll. Satoshi's gaze turned to his desk, splaying the contents of the scroll open, tracing words with sight at phenomenal speeds. "Do not skip any detail you can think of."
[attr="class","APP3"]A blank stare radiated from behind the massive slab of granite that made the receptionist's desk. The genin's words echoing off pristine white walls, a quiet voice answered back, the woman addressing him; blinking slowly. "Platoon one, genin to see you, sir. Major enemy incursion?" the question trailed off mindlessly, a bark of a command from behind closed doors.
"Enter." twin doors would swing open, white garbed hands holding them silently as the genin would enter. Across from the doors, the backdrop of Iwagakure lit through wide windows, a spotlessly organized desk stark in the light. Behind it, staring out onto the village - stood Satoshi.
A plain kimono covered his chest, peeking out with scars across his arms and chest, sunlight licking the greying hairs tucked behind his ears. Sharpness lit within the faintest glow of his single eye, cutting through the display of a village before him.
His village before him.
"Details." the man commanded, single eye scraping between city streets. His body would swivel, scanning the boy's entirety with little more than a glance. "Numbers, villages." He continued, turning back to his view as quickly as he had turned away. Thoughts would churn behind closed eyes, all silent.
Iwagakure's tower is a stone behemoth that dwarfs other structures around it in the center of the village. The halls within are quiet and echo with footsteps as one enters, but with careful observation one can see guards watching between slits of stone who have access to deadly traps. In the main hall is a room with a spiral painted floor and a desk in the center where an assistant typically sits.
If allowed entry the office of the Tsuchikage follows a spiraling set of exhausting footsteps. The office in the dome at the top is neatly organized and contains a desk with a great wood finish and shelves full of books and scrolls.
Kage Towers These threads are a permanent fixture and pinned for the use of anyone. When you enter a kage tower thread check to see if an interaction is currently going on, and if there isn't then you should post a new interaction. Sometimes a kage may not be available, so please give an assistant a chance to speak with your character before they approach the kage.
The Hidden Stone Village is well concealed within dense mountainous terrain. The oldest village still standing, it's buildings were carved from the stone itself by powerful doton users that helped to found it. Despite its age, the village is kept in great shape and its inhabitants are taught to appreciate what they have.
The Iwa shinobi military uniform typically consists of a red outfit which sometimes only has a single sleeve, replaced with a lapel. They wear brown flak jackets and mesh armor around their ankles.

Historical Events
Year -135 Iwagakure is established.
Year -120 to -91 Konoha and Iwa wage war across the lands between them, which would later belong to Amegakure and Kusagakure. Neither side really wins the war, but each grows less invested as time goes by until fighting ceases.
Year -75 The first Tsuchikage passes away from old age without declaring a predecessor. The second seat is decided through a tournament.
Year -69 to -50 Following the destruction of the Hidden Leaf, Iwagakure began to see the Taiyou Empire as its biggest threat. For years the directive of the second Tuschiage was to erect enormous walls and fortifications throughout the country to better defend itself against the Empire. Iwagakure even invites old enemies that survived the onslaught to serve alongside them, integrating a small population of former Leaf Shinobi into its ranks.
Year -39 A quake within the mountains disturbed the peace. The second Tsuchikage entered a crevice opened up in the mountainside and was never heard from again. The site of her disappearance was buried in earth compacted with dense chakra belonging to the woman herself, leaving excavation hopeless and many wondering what might have caused her to seal herself beneath the ground. A third Tsuchikage is put into place.
Year -38 to -15 The third Tsuchikage under the direction of the daimyo softens security policies in hopes of improving trade relations. Skirmishes with Amegakure become more frequent and bandit populations begin to rise on the roads. Military forces are redirected to the jungles of Takigakure, eventually capturing that territory and bringing it under the fold of Iwagakure.
Year -14 to Present Satoshi Yamawaro replaces the third Tsuchikage after they contract a mysterious illness. Satoshi puts his foot down and convinces the daimyo to allow him to exercise military authority to secure the borders of the Land of Stone. After securing the borders he has been attempting to gain favor with Otogakure to bolster the countries defense against the Empire, but talks have been slow.
Note: 0 on the calendar is the first year in the roleplay, spanning from June 2021 to the end of 2021.
Last Edit: Sept 1, 2021 21:07:35 GMT by Sharp: corrected hokage to tsuchikage in one sentence.
Twenty years ago the man known as Satoshi was born. Before his birth, the man who would become Satoshi was a field medic, possessing nothing particular or capable to his name. Nothing but ambition filled the young man, especially not morals.
The first man in his own super soldier program, the man was driven by intense bloodlust for Amegakure, losing his family and teammates to an ambush. He'd start small, pulling himself apart only to sew himself together twice the size as before. An empty vessel filled with hate, and stretched to it's breaking point - Satoshi would arrive, his grand goal beginning with a political career.
Eight years ago, this would come to ahead with the conquering of Takigakure, leading as Iwagakure's Jonin Hanchou. Gaining the title 'God-Fist Satoshi' by his peers, he quickly came into candidacy as the next Tsuchikage, and slowly he stretched his influence. Multiple puppet organizations in the country trace themselves back to him, for only god knows what.
Some rumor about these shadow organizations, but they find themselves fewer in number by the day - and long have passed those who have the notion he stole his seat for Tsuchikage with the aid of Otogakure. Relations have grown stagnate with the sound with the passing of its former leader. Still the man stands in his position, persisting in attempts to form an alliance with the village of Sound to crush the rain underneath his heel.
Proficiencies
Taijutsu [Grand Master] Satoshi has the martial prowess of thirty men, relying on decisive, single blows to debilitate his foes. Fast and heavy, the man practices a variant of Arhat Fist, incorporating throws as well as his own version of nintaijutsu. Capable of fantastic feats, he has been said to have beaten a hundred men in an allout brawl. Dive bombs, leg drops, elbows and knees; all surpassing his peers in strength. Restrained by his body, his reaction speed is lacking in comparison to other grand masters; not that enough live to notice.
Medical Ninjutsu [Master] Satoshi understands the healing arts and can accelerate healing by pouring charka into wounds, complex poisons, and how to cure them. In his younger years, the production of poisons as well - although rusty in his age. Capable of knitting even the most life threatening of wounds with chakra, although a grand master would be able to do it more efficiently. In particular, he has a fair bit of skill with the offensive usage of medical ninjutsu; destroying cellular structures or vital life functions with comparative ease - if not quickly.
Surgeon [Veteran] Not only a medicine man with ninjutsu, Satoshi's traditional medicine work is fairly well versed. Having spent periods of time honing his skills in rather unique ways, he has become something of an expert with transplanting, reorganizing, and grafting the human body. Not adverse from medical experimentation, he has skill with the genetic materials he plays with, managing minimal losses among them. Unfortunately, these procedures take him hours, if not days of surgery.
Senju Cell Implant [Journeyman] Satoshi has conducted medical experiments on himself to graft Senju cells onto his body. When activated, they flood his system with their regenerative abilities. Nowhere close to a mastered Senju's ability, this regeneration encourages platelet activity to quickly close cuts and wounds with scabbing, not completely healing them. These cells feed off of his chakra and can not be active for long, causing blood clots, memory loss, and muscle spasms if maintained for too long. In order to manage it he uses a cursed seal, restricting their potency to his implanted Byakugan.
Medical Nintaijutsu [Journeyman] Satoshi's knowledge of the human body's reaction to chakra has opened him up to directly control his muscular system. Expending large bursts of chakra at the point of impact, his blows become amplified to far beyond his own physical limitations. Capable of also flowing large amounts of chakra to reinforce his strength for longer periods of time, this style of enhancement cripples his body with extended use, and is ill-advised.
Fuinjutsu [Journeyman] Satoshi has a practical knowledge of fuinjutsu. He can create containers using scrolls and often uses it for easy storage of various medical supplies. He also finds the skill valuable for keeping intelligence documents safe. He hasn't really pushed the boundaries of conventual fuinjutsu, with cursed seals being his predominant reason for pursuing the field.
Juinjutsu To Satoshi, juinjutsu was the missing piece to the puzzle in his experimentation. Utilizing juinjutsu he is able to create a control mechanism by locking cells into a small area of his body until the rules of the cursed seal are broken. This allows him to keep one of his transplants dormant to avoid its side effects. His skill in writing seals could still use work, and rewriting a seal in combat is highly impractical for him. When experimenting on willing test subjects, he will often add a conditional cursed seal to render an implant dormant if certain orders are defied.
Byakugan Implant Having exchanged his left eye for a Byakugan, Satoshi keeps the eye sealed underneath an eyepatch. Allowing him to see chakra through any obstacle in a two-hundred and seventy degree field of view, a blind spot hiding on the back right of his head. As an implant, the Byakugan is always active; and is notably heavily damaged. Relying on the grafted Senju cells to maintain fragile nerve clusters, is his cursed seal is broken Satoshi will be rendered blind in the eye until he seals the cells into it again. With the eyepatch removed, the eye seems to almost pop from his skull, with veins seeming to rip from his skin surrounding it.
