Few pure Dodomeki still exist, instead their legacy primarily lives on through recessive genes of their descendants. A nomadic group with dwindling numbers, Dodomeki are most often found in the Lands of Lightning, Fire, and Stone. Those who maintain the ways of the clan practice the merchant trade, but are frowned upon as criminals often use them to fence stolen goods. This has led to ideas about the clan being a band of roaming thieves, a reputation that has led to its decline. While their have been a good number of tricksters that have been born of the clan, there is also a history of training in medical ninjutsu that is often passed on to its people.
Those possessing the Dodomeki kekkei genkai have many eyes that litte their body. Although they can not see chakra or more accuratly, it does grant them a wide field of vision and a few other boons. The clan itself sees their genetic gift as a curse, the growing process leading up to their maturity is painful as the body becomes enveloped in tumors. Sometimes the kekkei genkai will fail to mature at all, leading to a slow and painful death. The clan officially honors those who survive to unlock the tokakugan, but there have been cases where grief over lost family has led to misplaced envy within the ranks of the clan.
Kekkei Genkai
Dodomeki Heritage Those who are born with the clans kekkei genkai will begin to grow large tumors all over their body, which is often mistaken for a terminal illness to those unware of their heritage. This typically begins at puberty and can last for years or sometimes not even advance at all, leading to death.
Tokakugan [Many Eyes] Requirements: Dodomeki Heritage Upon maturity of this kekkei genkai the tumors slowly begin to open up to reveal eyes beneath the skin. These eyes allow the Dodomeki to see in nearly all directions provided enough skin is uncovered. In addition to this, the Dodomeki is able to turn their eyes inward upon themselves, allowing them to easily identify internal injuries and to be more precise in self treatment. Finally, these eyes can be used as mediums for performing visual genjutsu without hand seals.
The drawback of having eyes all over the body is that those possessing this trait are more vulnerable to dust and debris. Taking wounds overall is somewhat more painful because of the plethora of vulnerable points around the body.
