Coward.
Early on in his youth was that nickname branded so seamlessly into his reputation. Not as if it wasn’t deserving. Within a few weeks of training at the Academy and everyone knew who the most likely to run away from a fight was. When push came to shove, it was always a sure bet that Inori of the Yamanaka clan would be the first to flee. He didn’t want to be like this. A coward. By all intents and purposes he shouldn’t have been this way. His parents were warriors. Fought strenuously for their home in the Village of Stone. Unafraid of anything. Why had that particular trait escaped him?
Becoming a ninja wasn’t the correct career path for everybody. It appeared that Inori’s fellow classmates knew that far before he did. Joining had been in part due to his desire to live up to his parents. Not that they ever pressured him to do so, but what else was he supposed to do? Become a gardener? Yeah it would’ve suited him better, but he knew his parents would be disappointed deep down. They were proud people after all.
If not for this perceived future of disappointment, Inori would have much preferred the life of a merchant. Owning his own business and selling his wares. Maybe some eclectic items that might interest random travelers. One day going on to settle down with the love of his life and leave any thought of war behind him. Yeah that would be nice.
Sadly those dreams were never meant to be taken seriously. His training had run far too deep to turn back now. It wasn’t that he was a bad Shinobi. His skills were on par with the more average of his classmates. The issue was that he would always prioritize himself over others. Out of fear. This reputation had become well known amongst his fellow classmates making him the last person they wanted to surround themselves with. Naturally this led to some more bitter parts of his personality coming to light. What was the saying? Hurt people hurt people?
Human nature dictated that if you isolated an animal enough they react accordingly. Inori had started to get use to being looked down on for his sometimes cowardly ways. Therefore he reacted accordingly. Defensively is the better term. Instead of letting people tell him how they don’t trust him or put him down for looking out for himself first, Inori has learned to beat them to the punch. Often times he can come across as sneaky in his desire to succeed. His unfriendliness shows at the first sign of apprehension from others. Indeed if the situation comes down to saving himself or his peers, he has no problem proving those claims of selfishness.
Ultimately he wants to prove to his clan his worth. Secretly he’s always been looked at as the boy who doesn’t have what it takes. None of his family will say it to his face, but he knows how rumors get around. Not everyone can be born with an insane amount of nerves. Not everyone can have excessive willpower to push through. Inori knows he has what it takes to prove everyone wrong… he just hasn’t found it yet.
Taijutsu [Rookie]
Taught by the Academy, Inori implements some basic hand to hand combatant techniques into his fighting style. Utilizing a combo of quick kicks and punches followed by a swift retreat. Preferring to stay out of close combat, his body isn't prepared for taking multiple hits or even delivering that many.
Shurikenjutsu [Rookie]
Trained once more by the academy. He is able to launch basic weapons at targets that aren't too far away from him. It's never really a guarantee if the throw will connect or not as his accuracy isn't anything special.
Stealth [Rookie]
With all the knowledge that an Academy Student gets, he is able to sneak around decently enough. In the eyes of a civilian he can probably sneak by undetected, but things become a lot more difficult when trying to outsneak someone with experience. He does have practice with this particular skill due to his constant desire to avoid direct conflict with people.
Sensory [Rookie]
A preferred skill amongst the Yamanaka Clan. Inori has had training from his father on how to utilize his own chakra to detect others in his surroundings. As of now he is only able to detect people in his immediate surroundings, and even then he can't really distinguish any specifics about the person. A good amount of concentration and chakra currently has to be put into these techniques. He primarily uses this to tell the amount of people that are in close proximity to him. Can be useful if his vision is obscured.
Yamanaka Clan - Mind Techniques [Rookie]
Being able to prod at the mind has been a namesake for the Yamanaka clan for quite sometime. Inori has recently begun down the path of learning the techniques that highlight the clan. Still a novice in this area, he has to exert a lot of his own chakra to pull off the signature clan move. While it is possible for him to inhabit someone elses body, it is not advised to do so unless provided efficient aid or if said target is already unconscious. This is due to the slow speed and straight path at which Inori has to project his consciousness. His body naturally becomes unconscious and vulnerable during this process and even more so if he misses. Even if successful on his attempt, a strong willpower could easily force his consciousness out of the target.
