Originally a child born in an impoverished area of Takigakure, Goro was abandoned shortly after being born due to traits associated with the Oni's Curse and their association with ill omens, a fear exacerbated greatly by the ongoing Iwagakure campaign. Left in a sling on a tree branch as an offering to nature, the unnamed boy was found and taken in by a Kinzaru scouting party, a gorilla and monkey focused offshoot of the Inuzuka. Wrapped in a sling on the back of the matriarchal Koko, Goro was protected and eventually brought back to Iwagakure by the Kinzaru who adopted him as their own due in no small part to the amount of doting Koko gave to the young baby. A family of relative outcasts themselves, the Kinzaru endowed a strong sense of community, duty and gentleness in the child as he grew, with more senior members keeping the rapidly growing boy in check whenever his emotional immaturity and precocious growth grew to be a problem. As he reached his early teens, Goro became known for his impressive size and strong connection to his ninzaru Kiki.
Now an Iwa Chūnin, Goro serves his community in both official and unofficial capacities, often engaging in hard labor or other forms of ''regular'' work to alleviate the concerns of regular citizens. Known for his gentle disposition and his nearly seven foot frame, the gentle giant keeps himself busy with a combination of official assignments and tireless volunteering, which he performs alongside his lifelong companion Kiki. While this has largely kept the stigma of his heritage in the background, many villagers find his insistence on helping exhausting or see it as overcompensating for his cursed nature; a large man and his gorilla partner may be useful at building houses or lifting cargo, but every inch of horn that grows out of his forehead is a reminder that one bad day is all that stands between a useful citizen and a cursed monster. To this end, Goro has struggled to maintain close or sincere relationships with people, instead surrounding himself with people who are comfortable using his talents rather than those who genuinely care for him. Adding onto this exploitation is a pressure from those within the military structure to explore the strengths he was endowed with, so that he can better serve his role as a soldier of the village.
His abandonment and arms-length treatment by his villagers has ultimately given Goro a longing for genuine companionship and a role in the world that doesn't involve him ripping men in half, opening him up to potential exploitation by those with low cunning. This vulnerability has given the boy an apologetic disposition that often causes him to overreact to the concerns of other people, whether that begging forgiveness for a minor slight or even stopping a conflict because Goro is more worried about the optics of him hurting someone than his personal safety - which has given him an odd reputation for a teacher of his talents. Despite his reputation, Goro tries to make himself available to genin of all platoons, both out of a sincere desire to help them and also through the hopes that their carefree attitudes will rub off on him.
Four Legs Technique [Journeyman]
Raised by Kinzaru and imprinted upon by the ninzaru, Goro utilizes a style of martial arts that mirrors the behaviors and movements of great apes. Capable of travelling at great speeds using his arms as an additional pair of legs, Goro and his partner Kiki utilize wide swinging strikes, slams and strength reliant grappling techniques to pummel or slam opponents that get within arms reach. While lacking the grace of most traditional taijutsu styles, the pair move efficiently and have mastered the ability to combine their offense in the form of two-person slams or coordinate strikes that are hard to sustain, much less avoid. A favored tactic of the two is for one to knock a combatant down or into the air so the other can follow up with a quick, often brutal slamming attack into the hardest surface or even another vulnerable enemy. Compared to the original clan, Kinzaru (and )by extension Goro) utilize less rotational or piercing attacks in their martial art, instead focusing on the natural power of their ninzaru to immobilize and quickly dispatch their targets.
Shurikenjutsu [Apprentice]
Due to his reliance on his hands for his taijutsu and primary form of mobility, Goro relies on shurikenjutsu as his primary form of bukijutsu, although he typically avoids it whenever possible. Trained in the basics of ninja tools, Goro can reliably hit targets at range with kunai and can even employ supplementary tools like smokebombs in a pinch; however, his primary focus is on the use of explosive tags as both an impeding tool and a form of targeted destruction. Where he lacks in relative skill with thrown weaponry, Goro makes up for it in his ability to place and effortlessly track the locations of explosive tags during the heat of battle, allowing him to set perimeters and remain cognizant of them even during stressful situations. This allows for Goro to maintain traps and avoid damaging himself or his allies while also effectively closing off an area while he utilizes his taijutsu.
Stealth [Apprentice]
Despite his size, Goro is capable of fooling the oblivious or otherwise distracted by way of silent walking or basic camouflage through his training as a ninja and strong bodily control. Where Goro excels versus his peers is his ability to suspend himself from or otherwise make use of trees and vertical structures as a means to hide himself, allowing his combination of upper body strength and ape-like instincts to open up areas of subterfuge that other ninjas may not think of. As a consequence of this, finding enemies utilizing similar spots is often easier for Goro, as his instincts remain closer to that of a gorilla than a ninja, though this does mean he is often more susceptible to urban or esoteric forms of stealth.
Oni's Curse [Heritage]
Born with the telltale signs of the Oni's Curse, Goro has the hereditary potential to develop significantly greater physical strength, durability and the capacity to exude an aura of menace as he develops his connection with his birthright. As of yet, his heritage has only expressed itself in increased size and budding horns that pierce his forehead, although how much of his muscular physique can be attributed to natural propensity is hard to ascertain until he unlocks his true potential.

- Kiki (12)
Goro's ninzaru, Kiki is a female mountain gorilla with a silky brown coat and darker skin. She is large for a gorilla her age and often comes across as ornery when not given something to do, which typically manifests as Kiki sulking in a corner or trying to drag Goro off to do something. Fearless and driven, her behavior in battle often mirrors Goro's commands but when left to her own devices, she is known for instinctively targeting the smallest or physically weakest member of a group. Outside of basic slamming, striking and grabbing, Kiki likes to utilize a taijutsu technique that involves grabbing an opponent's arms and then slamming her feet into their chest or face in an attempt to fracture bones and or inflict minor injuries to their arms. This has earned her a reputation in the family for being a brutal combatant, if not a little too brutal for Goro's intentions in battle.
