FAQ
How far, How Strong, Etc- Key words inside of proficiencies exist to help guide you by making relative comparisons to another character. If someone has a proficiency that they can engage from at a long range and the other has one that can be engaged from a medium, then the first person is going to have the advantage in ranged combat scenarios. We don't deal in hard numbers for things and instead use relativity.
Can I be from Konoha- Only if your character is over seventy years old, as Konoha was conquered. You can play characters from Konoha clans anywhere.
Can I be from Sunagakure- As long as the character is older than twelve. The people of Sunagakure no longer live in the desert because it is too dangerous, and have been integrated into the society of the Hidden Rain. You can also make missing ninja from Suna.
Can I be from -insert minor village-- Yes, the larger villages have conquered minor villages which now serve as military outposts. Shinobi from these villages swear loyalty to the conquering village in order to receive shinobi training. You can also make missing ninja from these villages.
Can I be ANBU- In our roleplay ANBU is not a position. Chunin and above are assigned to missions to hunt missing ninja and perform other black ops tasks. See here for more details about this as well as how our site is structured when it comes to shinobi teams.
The ability I want isn't on the lists- Check the ban/restricted list, if it isn't there just add it to your sheet or post it up with an upgrade with what your character can do with it. When we review we'll make a decision about the proficiency and we may want a tweak or two. You need to register a clan for customized physiological traits (kekkei genkai) or hijutsu you only want the clan to be able to use.
How is Aging Handled- A characters age goes about every six months of tenure they have on the site. This will be done in periodic sweeps by the staff in batches.
Avatar Sizes- The hover avatar image is 250px by 350px and the profile image is 150x150
What happens if my character dies?- On character death, your next character is allowed to advance/learn new proficiencies equal to the amount of proficiencies their dead character had learned (in play), minus one. This can even be moved to a new character of a higher rank (through taking a rank claim or making a missing ninja). During events, this penalty is removed. Some events may offer up lotteries that give a member a chance to get something unique if their character dies.
Can I play a jinchuriki?- No country has yet captured a tailed beast. It will take locating a beast, defeating it, and having a high level of mastery in fuinjutsu to produce the first jinchuriki. Think of creating a jinchuriki as the site's "space race".
Hey! I have a few questions pertaining to my character. Namely, how would one go about making a kekkei genkai if they're clanless?
And how do rank claims work for those not associated with a particular village?
Hi there, for your first question what you'll want to do is establish the existance of the kekkei genkai in some way. I did this with my own custom clan by making a group of people that have been scattered and it is rare to find actual people from the clan (more just descendants).
We may be able to work with it being not from a clan, but it'd still have to be available for other people to use if desired. If that is the case you'd want to go with still apping it in the clan area and just use the opening part about clan info to explain some of the history behind the keikkei genkai.
For the second question non shinobi do not have rank claims, you can either make a missing ninja up to chunin equivlant or a non-shinobi.
Non-Shinobi Option 1. Begin with one apprentice proficiency and two rookie. Option 2. Begin with one journeyman level proficiency.
For KKG characters that means you'll probably start with a KKG and another ability with one at rookie and one at apprentice (with the third being used up by heritage).
Basic use of Flash tags would be allowed, but yet complex applications would be a Bukijutsu skill, yes?
Use of flash tags and explosive tags are considered part of the shurikenjutsu proficiency. Anything beyond basic usage should be declared in that proficiency.
After reading the proficiency guide, this bunny does has 2 questions: Can proficiencies (that are not event items such as Summoning Scrolls and Tailed Beasts) can be gained and What is the max number of proficiencies a character can have at a time? O.O

There’s no hard cap on proficiency, but each proficiency and upgrade increases the scrutiny each request is held to. You could add 8 rookie proficiency, but with the same amount of time spent you could have developed a few proficiency to be mid-upper tier. Reduced specialization is the cost of utility.
Things that are limited: 1 active genetic implant (with juinjutsu you can create a “toggle” to switch implants active and inactive.
1 physical enhancement per category. You can’t have multiple strength or speed enhancements.
Advanced release and heritage//kkg are limited to being taken on creation only. Up to one advanced release and one heritage.
Hijutsu limit 1 per character. Must be taken on creation or must be from the clan with a history that makes since that they are still “in training “ on the hijutsu.
