Intelligent? Skilled? The perfect shinobi?
None of these would describe Hikari Usagi! At the height of the Usagi Clan’s promise, he was gradually moved away from the Matriarch system along with his many kin in which males started to take a more invested role in the clan. Among his other cousins and family alike, they were called the new dawn on the clan: “The Suns of Usagi” due to their gender and how they were involved in the Usagi. Many of them flourished as they made the Usagi Clan’s techniques and skills their own with equal grace of their sisters within the clan.
Hikari, however, did not.
A young Usagi born into the world without vision, he struggled! He still held to the traditions of the clan and loved the stories as much as anyone else! He favored listening to the stories of his elders and their accomplishments within Iwagakure and beyond. He studied the clan as if there was a history book on them to develop his skills and mimic their skills. Even if he heard his grandmother’s stories a hundred times over and would match their moves…it was not enough. There was usually a step off, a hair out of place, or even just outright falling as he had not coordinated himself to be like his own kin.
By his pre-teen years, Hikari Usagi had finally developed some of the basics of his clan. A late bloomer, already, many had been able to listen to the teachings of his people and learn of the Earth as if it was a part of them. Their dances across the land were filled with grace and each step was as if their feet were being positioned on the land as if it was meant to be. Some would be ahead of their times and even be able to make such movements that they could almost fly across the sky with how they augmented their movement along with their weight with flawless timing.
Hikari could not.
At his age, he was an argument for many of the old elders who knew of the old ways to say why transitioning to these “Suns” was a mistake! Hikari believed he was a “mistake.” With a lack of ability, but an endless hope and admiration for the clan, Hikari had become desperate and signed up to become militia within Iwagakure in representation of his clan. He hoped that he would become something admired and supported due to his decision. He even spoke up with enthuse given that he heard the stories of the clan’s strongest being infamous for their tactics.
But that was the thing: they were infamous!
Among the stories that delighted him and caused his adoration: it was the stories that were actually of Usagi who grabbed glory despite the scorn of them joining militia which the Usagi did not like as a clan based on civility and pacifism. However, already marked a “Black Sheep,” Hikari did not want to turn away from his decision! He would study to the best of his ability, attempting to learn the arts of shinobi! However, he had met challenges with every turn due to many factors: he was blind, Usagi did not traditionally use ninja tools, and he did not have abilities that complimented the shinobi lifestyle.
He would have to improvise!
The average shinobi would graduate in their early teens. Hikari, persistent with a vast optimism and set on impressing his family, would graduate in his late teen years! By eighteen, he had graduated as he made use of his unique skills as a Usagi and passed the basics of his exams due to his vision! Although he had failed a total of four times, he had still been giddier than ever that he graduated and able to commit to an achievement he won himself! Even so, he was still left with a problem:

This is an answer he had to find out on his own as he began his first day as a shinobi.
Stealth [Rookie]
One of the gifts of the clan of rabbits is the gift of stealth! Although this is taught to every shinobi, Hikari has always seemed to be very light on his feet. It is one of the gifts he has had as a dancer who learned the arts from his family. He carried it into his career of a shinobi quite well along with breathing and tranquility in his heart as he moves. He still has a lot to learn when using stealth to harm or take lives as he will become disharmonized quite quickly making him easily noticed in moments of hesitation.
Usagi Heritage
Undying pride and unyielding love for his clan has created knowledge about everything the Usagi can do! However, the principals are beyond him. Hikari Usagi has studied and known about his clan's signature ability the Usaginomimi and their signature hoppingu for a long time. If one were to describe his admiration for his clan, then one could say that he is their number one fan!
Usaginomimi no Tekunikku
The blossomed gift of the Usagi Clan’s heritage. As someone who has awaken to his ears so long ago, Hikari Usagi has used his hearing to navigate the dark world around him as he was born as one of the five percent in his clan that was blind. Therefore, he has excelled in Chakra Control when it comes to using his technique. However, he has no hope of using visual Genjutsu and even more vulnerable to sounds since he has complete reliance on his ears.
Usagi no Hoppingu [Rookie]
The movement and style of the Usagi relies completely on the legs and graceful tossing of the body using momentum. Hikari, a dancer at heart, has utilized this to move ever so swiftly and easily whether he is hoping through the air or spinning about on his heels and tossing his very flexible legs. With an utter focus on movement and form, he has learned the basics of Hoppingu to leap while in mid-air at least once in a vertical kick upward in the moment he shifts his body weight. Still, he knows only the basics of his balance when using his Hoppingu in tandem with his Usaginomimi, so he cannot consecutively use this technique.
Regaria [Rookie]
Not exactly fashioned to be a weapon, but here he is! Hikari takes his family’s traditional heels into battle that he utilizes to deliver powerful kicks due to their iron build. With his balance from his hearing, balancing himself in this footwear seems to not be a problem! They are the standard design distributed across villages and made with the cheap materials that the clan manufactures for the casual wearer. They tarnish easily overtime and may not be the best for fighting true manufactured weapons with higher grade. But they can still deflect some basic weapons and even deadlock with a lot of melee weapons.
