It seemed that the girl he thought he was saving didn't believe she needed much help at all. Instead of using the wall as an opportunity to get away, she was running to the other side. Tenchi had noticed an assortment of what looked to be trash before placing the wall up. Maybe this woman was considering those things her items and he had now placed the thug all alone with her belongings. An error on his part. Giving an advantage to the thief and now creating a barrier that this poor woman had to get past.
"Damn it." He whispered to himself as he would now have to give chase. He would start in a sprint towards the same wall she had just run around but instead of going around, he would jump right onto the wall. One foot kicked off the wall to boost him upwards. He would land at the top of the wall. From his place at the top of the wall, he could now see that it wasn't one potential assailant.
Instead, it was two. Both were on the move with something that they believed made the thievery worth it. Assuming she did eventually give chase this show would be on the road.
"Is whatever those two have taken worth your life?"
A question that he was in no place to ask. After all, she didn't ask for his help. His intrusion had only complicated the situation. Yet, now that he was involved he would be forced to see it through. If she didn't give chase, he could just help her preserve whatever was left in this mess.
Tenchi is a user of Earth release ninjutsu. More often than not Tenchi is using this type of ninjutsu to be on the defensive. There are ways to use it offensively but he has yet to hone his skills to the point where he can lay waste to larges areas or completely change landscapes to be advantageous for him. Tenchi does have a penchant for creating mud with his earth style in attempts to slow down quicker opponents than him. As well as creating a medium for some of his more complex ninjutsu.

Earth Release [Veteran]:
Tenchi is a user of Earth release ninjutsu. More often than not Tenchi is using this type of ninjutsu to be on the defensive. There are ways to use it offensively but he has yet to hone his skills to the point where he can lay waste to larges areas. He does have the ability to change the landscape with techniques such as Doton: Doryūkatsu. The damage radius is not immense but it is enough that his ability must be respected by those who encounter him. Tenchi is also known to go underground for short bursts of travel. Often used to escape or catch adversaries off guard. Due to being able to control Earth in all of its forms Tenchi often is seen using mud in his techniques as well.
Replacing Dormant Mokuton with Fire Release [Journeyman]:
When not using his Earth release to wreak havoc on the battlefield Tenchi uses fire release to cause serious injuries to his opponent. He has yet to become as proficient in the use of this element in comparison to Doton but he is still able to perform strong enough techniques to make him a formidable adversary for anyone who has faced his fire. While he is able to create fireballs and flame bullets Tenchi is most often seen using his Fire release to heat up the mud he uses in his earth release to deadly results for those who get caught in it.
Within seconds of looking around, it became clear that no superior officer was coming. The words of the Kunoichi with them only confirmed that. The situation here had seemed to calm. Tenchi felt it was now his duty to take charge before things got worse. After all he seemed to be the most experienced ninja in this field. Although he could be wrong. Now was not the time to pick lots or discuss each members' experience.
Before Tenchi could begin to say a word, he heard the sound of arrows flying through the air. He turned around realizing, one of them was missing. There was no telling how far out the other member of this diverse team of shinobi was. For all Tenchi knew he could be being pierced by arrows at this very moment. No, he couldn't let that thought cross his mind. If there was still a chance for him to be alive Tenchi would do whatever it took to help him.
He began putting his hands together performing the proper seals to create a plethora of smaller Earth walls. Around the area. They would create coverage for the ones with him and hope they were helpful for the boy that had gone on his own rescue mission. After the walls were made Tenchi would turn back to his current allies.
"We must leave this place at once. I do not know what is beyond those archers but the Kazekage called for a retreat. We are of no use here right now. We shall bring support to other areas during our retreat. We also need to get some sort of communication on what the Kazekage saw that made her call for a retreat. " He was hopeful that they would listen to his words and begin to move. Tenchi intended to be the last one to leave this area but not without the rest of this group.
Another day, Another mission complete. This time he was out bounty hunting. A former shinobi of the Rain had been found fraternizing with pirates on the borderlands of the mist. The kill was difficult for him only because Tenchi understood his plight. He could relate to not feeling like he belonged. However, it did not change the fact, that he was a traitor and the responsibility had fallen on him to retrieve him. All that was left of him now was a headband that once wrapped around his arm. Now it would just be proof of another successful kill for Tenchi.
This excursion would be his last solo mission for a while. The Kazekage had approved his time away from his squad for quite some. It was never supposed to be a permanent exit. Sometimes the Rain's Wayward Sword needed time to himself. A chance to take on a higher level of difficulty in his work. Being in a team felt more like a chaperone at times. Like the others needed to be protected and watched over rather than working in unison. It took patience and, this time away had refueled his.
His venture back to the village had been quiet. No one else seemed to be outside at this time. It made traveling back peaceful. The moon directed a path along the riverbank for him to follow. It was along this path that he would spot Shizuka. One of the senior members of the team. Peculiar for her to be out of the village at this time. He had been gone for about a week yet there was no word of a mission for anyone on his unit prior to his leave.
She also didn't seem to be equipped to be embarking on any journey of any sort for the village. It would be negligent of him to not approach her just to see what was going on. After all, if she was deserting the village she might be the next traitor he would be sent to catch.
"Shizuka, what has led you out the gates of the village tonight."
It was best to not assume. He could not see her face since his approach was from behind. For all, he knew she could just be looking for some fresh air.
Tenchi made his usual travels outside of the Rain Village on his days off. Being busy was his peace. He was not a man for relaxation or some silly hobby. When he wasn't planning for the future or working on missions, he was cleaning the borders. Far too often were eager merchants or other travelers being held up by gangs of scavengers or other violent criminals looking for a quick heist. Tenchi and his straw hat were the punishment that these people usually experienced for their evil deeds.
It looked like today would be no different as within seconds he would see the woman and a bandit attempting to rob her. Normally these types of thieves ran in packs like wolves. Yet, only one was what this woman was lucky enough to have to face. Hell, it even looked like she was giving him a harder time than he could deal with. Throwing her valuables or trash at him. It was truly hard to differentiate with the number of things that she had. Regardless he would be her help today.
He placed his hands together and began creating the proper hand seals for his intended Jutsu. An earth wall would be appearing between her and her assailant.
"The borderlands aren't safe for travelers to be venturing alone."
He was hoping that his wall would be enough to scare off the scavenger. If not he would have to take a more violent approach.
Another adversary was defeated by his blade. In a field surrounded by the dead from this skirmish, Tenchi couldn't lose focus. He saw that the many other members of this temporary Shinobi Alliance were all done with their separate battles. Maybe the other villages took the time out to send some competent men and women to work together. Here he thought Amegakure would do the heavy lifting. However, there was a possibility that shinobi whose ancestors used to live in the former Leaf Village were here as well. Kin to him. The bastard children of the villages who had united today.
Maybe some felt as invigorated as he did on this soil. He was, done thinking about it. These thoughts were nothing more than a distraction that would take his focus from the task at hand. Tenchi approached what seemed to be the focal point of this moving party. The young boy giving thanks and requesting people stay didn't look like the person in charge. He was a damn child.
"Where's the commanding officer for this area?" As soon as the sentence came out of his mouth, he thought again to the Kazekage requesting a retreat. He still hadn't figured out what had caused the pause in their march earlier and, now he was in a whole new mess. Tenchi would be sure to prevent anyone else from going that way until they had received answers on what had occurred there to frighten his leader.
Not the death blow he had wanted but, Tenchi had disarmed his adversary. The sacrifice of his weapons and a few digits was a better price to pay instead of his life. However, it was probably this man's only option. After all, the Ame nin had no intentions of allowing him to leave here. He would join the many men and monsters that had met their end in combat with Tenchi today.
Still, desperation does make a man dangerous. When a man has nothing to lose, they will try anything. That is why even with the hand bloody and his axes gone, he must have still chosen to pursue Tenchi. If it wasn't for his absolute hate for the empire, he might have even respected the efforts of this man. Instead, all he had on his mind was the mistake of rushing to attack him and his next opening.
He quickly freed his sword again to swipe up once his arm was in range. The fingers were the only thing lost the first time around. Tenchi was now aiming at permanently disarming this man. One slash if, timed properly would take his wrist or maybe even his arm from him. If successful, he would spin his body bringing his sword with him attempting a slash across the abdomen. This one adversary had already taken more his time than he would like. He needed to help the team that was here. Now was not the time for a long duel.
Only about two hours ago was Tenchi with the Kazekage. Yet, after looking through her spyglass, she gave the order to retreat. Mere seconds after, she was gone. She was a true master of stealth. He turned and made his leave from the war-stricken territory. What in the world was it that had the Kazekage retreat in what Tenchi could only deem fear.
Tenchi arrived back at the line. He made his retreat with no real sense of direction or plan. If the Hokage had elaborated further on what she had seen, he could have been elsewhere. Maybe he should have headed towards camp instead. Yet when he arrived at the line, it was still chaos. People injured all across the battlefield were seeking help or beginning their journey to the other side. While others were still entangled in the heat of battle.
It was not long before Tenchi was soon faced with his own adversary. A brutish man wielding two axes lunging directly at him. This would not be the end of the Amegakure Jonin. One hand was placed on the hilt of his sword while the other held the sheath it was currently covered in. He would have to time this perfectly if he was to cut this man down before seeing who he could lend aid to on this battlefield.
Once the man was in range he would lean forward pulling his sword for one quick attack attempting to cut the man in half and place his sword back within its casing before he could ever be struck by the axes. Speed would by his ally in this battle.
The leaf village may be gone but, not everyone has forgotten about their former home. One such family deeply rooted in Konohagakure made their way to Amegakure after the loss of their village. Here they would rebuild their lives but not without continuing to remember where their history came from. Born years later was Tenchi Sarutobi. Since his youth, he was told stories about Konoha and the great shinobi that came from there. As a child, he dreamed of visiting the Kingdom that his Grandpa told him so much about. He dreamed of being like the Allies of his elders. Creating a name for himself with heroic feats that would never be forgotten in the annals of Shinobi. It was not until he was an adult that he realized it no longer existed. A place long forgotten to most as a new village has risen from the ashes. The boy who once wanted to visit the past is now a man looking to forge a new future.
Tenchi foresees himself one day bringing back the Leaf village. He is unable to see Amegakure as anything more than his surrogate home. He views himself as a foreigner in his birthplace. He still shows allegiance to the Rain. Being a part of the village is a means to an end. He desires to continue to develop himself into the most powerful version of himself he can be before aligning with more people who are descendants of the Leaf to rebuild what was taken from their ancestors.
Tenchi is a shinobi in every sense of the way. Although he feels like an outsider in the rain village he is committed to his role. He protects those left under his supervision at all costs. Preferring failure over casualties to his allies no mission is more important than the people assigned to the field with him. He has a never say die attitude willing to give everything and then find a way to give 10% percent more. His willingness to give his all comes from the ideals his grandfather instilled in him. He thinks anything else would be a stain on his legacy.
He takes pride in helping the next generation of Shinobi develop even if his methods of training could be considered extreme. Tenchi believes in always being as real as possible. He has experienced how cruel and violent this world can be. To hold back in training is to give a false sense of confidence when real combat comes. His own experiences in the war with Sunagakure caused him to see things this way.
When not serving the village Tenchi can be found wandering the countryside to take on the bandits who prey on the people who make journeys across the border. Always believing that the job is not done. That there are more people to help or protect Tenchi gets restless at the idea of not working. As if his goals can not be completed if he becomes complacent as another cog in the wheel instead of trying to be the greatest Shinobi to ever live.
Tenchi is naturally a kind man. He is soft-spoken and respectful to all people that he comes into contact with initially even adversaries. People are meant to be different and he accepts that. Without enemies, there would be no need for Shinobi like him to strike them down. The only things in the world he has contempt for are people from Otogakure and those who betray their comrades.
Proficiencies
Taijutsu [Journeyman]
Strong Style Taught to him by his father Tenchi is a user of the strong fist taijutsu style in close combat. This style is intended to break bones and cause external damage to the foe with smashing impacts at intense speeds. Tenchi is not incredibly strong but the speed at which he can pull of his attacks can cause the impact to be more than what adversaries expect. Repeated attacks to the same body parts may break bones but no one blow would be able to do such a thing at his current level.
Due to his speed, Tenchi is great at avoiding attacks. No, he doesn't have any ability to predict moves but once he sees how a blow is approaching him he does have the agility and know-how to get out of dodge or to counter in a way that puts him in an advantageous position.
Kenjutsu [Journeyman] Tenchi bukijutsu of choice is Kenjutsu. Although he does carry other tools based on the task at hand, his sword is always with him. Tench is skillful at Iaido or the drawing technique. A one sword style that focuses on striking almost immediately after pulling his sword out of his sheath and resheathing once the adversary is cut down. Due to the speed of the technique, it is difficult for the inexperienced to anticipate the blow. At times when he is not using Iaido, he still is an aggressive fighter with his sword. He likes to control the pace in combat and by constantly striking at his adversaries he can do just that.
Stealth [Journeyman] Tenchi is not the most stealthy of shinobi. To be honest most of the time he is not even trying to avoid detection. He much rather take on all tasks headfirst. However, in the event that he has to use stealth, he has the know-how to avoid detection. Being able to blend into the shadows while stalking prey or concealing himself behind cover when avoiding detection from other shinobi. The true tell of a shinobi is how well they train themselves in the things they don't normally do. Tenchi has made sure that he has kept his stealth at the same level as the rest of his abilities even it is not his preferred course of action.
