Amaku is a rather small clan that native to the Hidden Mist. While keeping their public appearance to minimal, their members are often sought out to join the ranks of villages for their unique abilities. There is one main trait that all the members of the Amaku family share – that is the black color of their hair, which doesn’t turn grey even with aging. The clan consists of the main family and two branches, however, the structural hierarchies are quite loose, as the clan itself is on a brink of extinction due to the impotency that is running in the family. Some members of the family have shown the ability to control the Dark Release [Meiton], which is a unique element that allows the user to use the element of dark matter. Members of the clan that have shown potential for Meiton seem to be unable to utilize any other elements.

This unique power is still not closely researched. It seems like the main ability of Meiton is the ability to release and control the dark matter – a mass that can fluctuate between liquid and solid states, and has one main ability. It is capable of consuming chakra. This “consumption” depends on the ranks of both the user and enemy, however, Grand Masters that dedicated their whole life to studying the Dark matter are capable of absorbing larger-scale techniques with ease. Due to this mechanism, it is very hard to utilize the element in an offensive manner, as it only reacts with chakra, therefore is not harmful on the touch. In solid-state, it can be however used offensively, as it has a high velocity and could be compared to a brick-like material.
Meiton lies dormant until the user achieves Journeyman rank in Ninjutsu. Then, they are able to start utilizing it in basic shapes, usually released through hand seals. At Journeyman, the user is able to produce a dark matter that is approximately 1 cubic meter big. They can then manipulate it to their needs for mostly defensive purposes. It is capable of absorbing one apprentice-level ninjutsu technique, or two rookie ones before it is disintegrated and has to be recreated once again.
At Veteran, the user has the basic knowledge of Kekkei Genkai and is able to refine their skills further. They are able to produce a dark matter at the amount of 3 cubic meters, which they can control much more efficiently – create different shapes or navigate it using different hand gestures. At this level, the mass is capable of absorbing chakra worth of 1 Journeyman rank technique or two apprentice or four rookie rank techniques, before it is disintegrated and has to be recreated once again.
The true power of Dark release is manifested at the Master level. From then, users are able to create up to 10 cubic meters of matter and are able to manipulate it freely with their will. The matter is able to absorb up to one master rank / two veteran ranks / four journeyman ranks / eight apprentice / sixteen rookie ranks worth of chakra before it disintegrates. On this level, they are also able to shift the state of the matter very efficiently and cause it to act like liquid or solid within a mere second. They are able to create complex shapes, such as full body armor made purely of Dark matter, of different creatures that they are able to freely manipulate.
At Grandmaster, the user is able to create up to 100 cubic meters amount of Dark matter, which they are able to manipulate to their liking. The mass is capable of absorbing one grandmaster rank / two master ranks / four veteran ranks / eight journeyman ranks / sixteen apprentice ranks / 32 rookie ranks worth of chakra, before it disintegrates. They have full control of the created matter and can control it just by will, without the need of any hand gestures or hand seals.
