Much of Oda’s history is tainted by war. His ancestry was filled to the brim with the blood of endless fighting, so much so that it overfilled, spilling over into Oda's ever since he was a young boy.
Oda's ancestry cared for the injured and the hopeless and the lost, taking in anyone from orphans to travelers to refugees whose lives were ruined by the greed and anger of the world around them. For hundreds of years, they remained faithful to Denryū Shrine. Even as a boy, Oda grew up caring and polishing the relics left behind by his ancestors.
His father was known as a man of few words, and Oda has become a spitting image in both mind and body. He is someone remains quiet and yet demands the attention of the room with his serious and judgmental disposition.
Oda was born in the North in a small village, Himura. Despite the years of peace, the village's water continued to taste of ash and blood ever since it was ripped apart during the Taiyou Empires rise to power. The village was believed to be cursed.
A religious man, Oda’s father uprooted his family from Himura out of fear that the water would pollute their souls. He moved them farther west using undergrown the tunnels created for illegal trade during the change in their country’s power. Their family’s shrine remains in the ruined village and Oda visits it on occasions since his father’s passing.
Oda found a much different path in life despite his father's teachings and his affiliation with the Denryū Shrine. He began to focus on the path of war that his ancestors had been so deeply entangled with. Oda could see the destructive capabilities of their bloodline, but he also saw the good it could do in protecting his country and those around him.
He trained hard and developed his skills. Oda has so far only focused on Taijutsu, somewhat scared to fall into the same trap as his ancestors had with their Kekkei Genkai. He has been reluctant to toy with the Ranton element.
Oda was somewhat tainted by his father’s delirium, but it would be rare to find another shinobi more loyal that he is. Like his father, he has little to say, but what word he has he holds himself to. He is a leader at heart and has full belief in that the children of the village are its future and fuel and has prided himself in being the spark that ignites it.
Taijutsu [Veteran]
Oda has prided himself as a taijutsu specialist. A natural strategist, he isn't one to go in without thinking. He will start by assessing the strengths and weaknesses of his opponents while relying on dodging and quick jabs. He relies mostly on more aggressive tactics with powerful but devastating blows once he has understood his opponent better.
Kenjutsu [Journeyman]
Oda's experience in Kenjutsu goes all the way back to his childhood years. His father found peace in practicing Kenjutsu as a way to exercise, though it was not originally intended to cause harm to others. Oda's early practice in Kenjutsu comes from his times at the Shrine as a boy. It is not used nearly as often as his Taijutsu.
Stealth [Journeyman]
An essential in his line of work, Oda has learned to be quick and quiet on his feet. He is able to land quietly after falling from greater heights and his attention to detail helps him to take paths that would likely make much less noise.
Ranton Release [Dormant]
Storm Release runs deep in Oda's veins. His father would tell him from a young age that caring for the shrine was their way of repenting from the blood spilled from countless wars. His control over his Kekkei Genkai is at the moment non-existent due to his reluctance to begin learning the element.
