(This isn't any official document or anything, just a post in general from me.)
I think the best way to thrive in a shonen setting could be compared to improv acting. It is also important to look at method acting, and why it isn't ideal to use its parralels for shonen RP without restraint.
Improv actors don't have a script, they may have a character made to use with ambitions & motivations. There might even be some loose storyline that they are given to try to achieve for the character. Nothing is really set in stone. Normally though, there is still a distinct difference between the actor and the character. The actor is trying to entertain or engage the audience. When the curtain closes, the people who portrayed enemies on screen can go to Denny's together even though one of them killed the other's character in the closing scene.
Shonen roleplayers should try getting in the same frame of mind as an improv actor. When we apply this sort of reasoning we can generate the exciting action content of shonen without damaging our interpersonal relationships with one another.

Method acting, getting so far into character that you become like the character even off set, is something that can help an actor really get into character. In shonen roleplaying, the parralel of this can unfortunatly form toxic habbits if taken to an extreme. Keeping score. Measuring the accomplishments of your character as a point of superiority over others. Being aggressive about rulings. When you are blurring the lines between self and character, you begin to lose rational thinking.
I want to go to Denny's together after we get done doing some cool shit. I don't want you pulling a Jared Leto on me in the parking lot.
You. The person reading this -are more valuable than the sum of a single character. Odds are you've only scratched the surface of hundreds of other ideas you could bring to the site tomorrow if the worst happened to your current character. Allow your characters to be characters and let whatever happens happen... And let's stay friends regardless.
