One of the founding clans of Konoha, the Uchiha enjoyed leadership over the village under the reign of Hokage Kasane Uchiha. Like most other clans from Konoha, many Uchiha lost their lives when it fell to the Taiyou Empire, including the life of the Hokage. Many Uchiha have obsessed over a desire to take back what was stolen from them, waging hopeless campaigns over the years to reclaim Konoha. Enough Uchiha have died that they are a lot less common of a sight these days.
Some Uchiha and descendants of the Uchiha possess the sharingan, a dojutsu that grants them a number of abilities. Aside from their dojutsu Uchiha are known for their expertise in fire jutsu and using projectiles.
Uchiha Heritage
Those that possess this heritage were born with the capability to unlock the sharingan.
Sharingan
Requirement: Uchiha Heritage
Note: When you unlock sharingan you can not use it until you put your character through a major emotional stress. When you unlock mangekyou sharingan your character can not use the powers until they witness a friend played by another member of the site die (deaths from before the unlock do not work).
The sharingan is a dojutsu with many abilities, when it is first unlocked it grants accute vision. This affords the user a slight increase in the amount of time they have to react to incoming attacks that they can see. They can also see concentrated chakra, such as a shinobi channeling a complicated jutsu or the chakra of a tailed beast. Using the sharingan at this level is highly draining to the user.
Upon reaching apprentice level, the user either gains a higher degree of stamina with using the sharingan or they gain the ability to detect all forms of chakra that they can see, allowing them to pick out a shinobi hiding among shadow clones. Unlike the byakugan the sharingan does not grant the ability to see chakra through obstructions like walls or smokescreens.
Upon reaching journeyman level, the user gains whichever option they did not pick in the previous tier. They also gain either the ability to mimic jutsu or to use thier sharingan in genjutsu with the eye of hypnotism.
Mimicry allows the holder of the sharingan to mirrior a jutsu they observe being used, but they must be capable of performing the jutsu themselves. To mimic a jutsu, one must have the proficiency that is to be used and be within one step of the proficiency of the person they are copying the jutsu from. For instance to copy a jutsu used by a person with journeyman katon, the sharingan holder would need to have apprentice katon. Copied jutsu can be used in the thread until it ends. A thread where jutsu are copied can be used as good evidence towards an upgrade if the shinobi is encorporating a copied style into their training. Keep in mind that mimicry doesn't copy the traits of a person.
The eye of hypnotism allows those with the sharingan to use visual genjutsu without need of hand seals, allowing those illusions to be cast with eye contact alone. This does not grant a genjutsu proficiecny in and of itself, which must be picked up seperatly.
At veteran level, the sharingan holder will gain either mimicry or the eye of hypnotism, depending on what they passed on in the previous upgrade.
Upon reaching master level, the holder of the sharingan can unlock the mangekyou sharingan. This grants the holder two new proficiency of journeyman level to perform specific techniques with. These can be modeled around the power level of an advanced release or a space-time ninjutsu. Alternatly one of the powers gained can grant an Uchiha with at least journeyman genjutsu proficiency tsukuyomi, the ability to make a genjutsu inescapable without the assistance of another or exposure to extreme pain.
Regardless of choice, each use of these powers diminishes vision in the eye, causing blood to spill from the socket. After six uses of a power, a diminished vision trait will be added to the corresponding eye. If both eyes gain this trait the user will lose access to the enhanced vision aspects of the sharingan including mimicry. After an additional four uses an eye will become completely useless. Reversing the damage to an eye requires transplanting the eye of another sharingan holder. (This is not to grant eternal mangekyou sharingan, it only resets the charges). Using transplants in this way counts towards the one active transplant limit.
A grand master in sharingan grants access to a journeyman proficiency called Susanoo. Starting at first as simply an ethereal ribcage that can be used for defense, as the susanoo is improved it becomes more complete form. While suspended within a susanoo the user is able to continue using ninjutsu through the avatar, which protects them from damage and fights on their behalf.
