Hideyoshi stared down into the rippling water. His left arm was crumpled under his chest, pinned against the wood, while his right was resting on the edge and outstretched in the direction of his sister. Turning his head, he locked eyes with his father but said nothing.
The fog rolled around them, drawing his attention back to the water. A small, almost inaudible sigh escaped. Shifting towards his sister, he gave her a small smile. He was glad she was here. If she wasn't he would have tried harder to find some excuse not to come. Spending 'quality time' with his father wasn't his idea of a good time, but he put up with it when Erika was around.
The boat was a waste of money in his eyes. Why'd it have to be so damn fancy, he thought. It's just a pathetic excuse for him to talk to us anyway. We don't even fish! Closing his eyes, he rested his head on his arm, hoping to spend as much of the trip in silence as he could.
Jun's throat-clear shattered that hope and caused Hideyoshi to roll his eyes under his lids. Here it comes.
“How is your training coming along?”
"Seriously?" He said, holding back a groan. "Training is fine, thanks for asking." As if you didn't know, he thought.
Opening his eyes and turning to his sister, he asked her the same with more actual interest than he assumed Jun had.
"Eri? You graduated from spitting water at me?" He said with a genuine smile.
Plotter Hideyoshi is a ninja of the Hidden Mist, true to many of the preconceptions typical of them. At time violent and ruthless, he is nonetheless a shinobi true to the core. He cares deeply about those he considers family, often at the expense of those he does not.
I'm looking for a few things for him at the moment: namely, I want to find some friends for him. Any allegiance will do, from Sound Ninja, to even Cloud Ninja or Missing-nin, and everyone in between.
I'm also looking for mentors or people willing to train with him, in two categories: Taijutsu & Kenjutsu (he uses a style very similar to Killer Bee's) and Suiton & Katon (he has a dormant Boil AR).

Now that he was close enough to see her in detail, Hideyoshi scanned the stranger. A shrine maiden?, he wondered to himself. Didn't see too many of those around these parts, fewer still away from their temples, if that's what she was.
A look of distrust crept over his face as he listened to her and tracked her courteous movements with tired eyes. Could be anyone. Regardless of who she really was, he wasn't much in the mood for 'preserving the safety' of Kirigakure. He did enough of that when he was forced to, so he certainly wasn't going to waste his time or attention on that on his day off.
"No offense taken," he said with a sickly smile. "This is hardly Amegakure."
Attention drifting, he looked to one side of the lake to see smoke billowing from an obscured chimney that he knew belonged to the selfsame teahouse he'd made mention of.
"And yeah, I'm from around here." He pulled his headband out from a fold in his clothes, flashing the symbol at her.
There weren't any shrines near here, at least any he knew of, and she didn't look like a native of the area. "Where're you from? And what's this pilgrimage you're on about?"
"Looks like we've both got nothing better to do, and besides, maybe someone at the teahouse will know where your next destination is."
"Wouldn't do to have anyone say I'm a godless heathen afterall."
Raindrops splashing off the leaves above shook him from his sleep; sluggish eyes slowly opened to the sight of dark green foliage on a background of dark grey sky. The shinobi watched the clouds moving lazily as they gathered overhead. Suddenly a fat drop of water fell from above, landing squarely in one of his half-open eyes.
Hideyoshi groaned and shook his head like a dog drying his coat, finally awake. With a pained sigh he pulled himself to a sitting position on the wide bough he'd been snoozing on and then dropped down to the ground.
A day like this was a perfect opportunity to get out of town in his eyes. With everyone either back in the village or otherwise inside, he'd have plenty of peace and quiet to relax on one of his few days off. Where better to spend it than far away from prying eyes like his father's?
The lakeside path led him to the west, through damp groves of trees and past many small ponds. A sudden decline in elevation brought him towards the edge of the lake and as he left the tree line he saw a woman standing in the distance looking over the water. As he got closer he saw her move to leave and barely overheard her muttering to herself.
"The zoo isn't bad this time of year," he joked. "Oh, or the library, or the theater." A mocking grin crossed his face. "You're not likely to find much else besides a tea house this far from the village."
Sumire Kabeya | WC: 259 | A hot spring would be really nice IRL about now
Born in the Land of Water to his father Jun and a mother he can barely remember glimpses of, the young Hideyoshi quickly grew into a rambunctious handful of a child. Strong-willed and tactless, life under his father's chaffing and ceaseless gaze drove Hideyoshi to express himself through rebellious nature and plenty of diversions. While Jun was light on the punishments, Hideyoshi always knew he was watching. Because of this he grew up to always seek opportunities to slink away. Whether it was attempting to give his father the slip or climbing out the window to play with the older kids, Hide was always wriggling around.
Learning to be quite independent and quick-tempered came naturally when he always felt like everyone was judging him. The worst of his behavior has always been mellowed out by the presence of his younger sister, whose shyness brought out a more mature and protective side of him. When he isn't around family though, when his sister isn't under his wing or his father's eyes aren't on him, his worst side shows. Cruel and sometimes even bloodthirsty , he has been known to prove some of the stereotypes of Kirigakure shinobi true. He isn't one to show mercy to an enemy and rarely offers help to anyone outside his village.
He has heard the whispering of gossipers about his parentage: about whether his father is really his father or his uncle. Having never known the latter and not being prone to caring much about his past, he doesn't think about it much anyway. The doubt doesn't help Jun's image in his son's eyes but, at least outwardly, Hideyoshi never thought too much of him to begin with.
Proficiencies
Suiton [Water Release | Journeyman]「★★★☆☆☆」
Far along in the use of Water-based jutsu, Hideyoshi possesses the ability to use a wide variety of Suiton techniques. He can make tall waves and numerous water spears, among a litany of other jutsu such as water clones and the water prison.
Senpūjutsu [Taijutsu | Apprentice] ★★☆☆☆☆
Similar in many ways to the Disturbance Taijutsu utilized by a select few Kumogakure shinobi, the Whirlwind style focuses on fast and strong attacks made with the legs. Woven into a dance-like display of feints, spins, handstands and more, this style can deliver massively powerful surprise strikes simply not possible with other styles that focus on the use of the arms. A blend of the real world martial arts of Taekwondo and Capoeira, Senpū trades traditional jabs and swings for spins and inverted kicks that leverage the superior strength of one's legs. An expert of the style can combine it with kenjutsu to make use of their empty hands during their deadly dance.
At Hideyoshi's current level of mastery, his most powerful and well-placed kicks are capable of instantly knocking out regular non-ninja and can leave nasty bruises on shinobi if a direct hit is taken.
Taifuujutsu [Kenjutsu | Apprentice] ★★☆☆☆☆
A lightweight and simple style of Kenjutsu, Cyclone Style can be used to assail opponents with a flurry of small strikes from the two tantos a practitioner uses. Focusing on many weak slices, it is sometimes seen as a weak style. Faring best in long and drawn battles where the small knicks and cuts compile into enough blood loss to slow the opponent down, Cyclone style is best suited to be used as a back-up or compliment to another method of fighting.
In Hideyoshi's case, his Cyclone style is combined with Senpūjutsu to sneak in small cuts and punctures while the enemy is focused on avoiding or blocking that technique's powerful kicks. At his current Apprentice level, it can be used as a slightly-below average method of fighting with daggers or inefficiently integrated into his Whirlwind style of Taijutsu.
↳ 2 Steel Tantos Hideyoshi currently uses two simple steel tantos to facilitate his kenjutsu techniques. They are capable of conducting chakra, though Hide is not yet capable of using them to do so.
Silent Killing [Stealth | Apprentice] ★★☆☆☆☆
As is the case with many ninja of the Land of Water, Satō was taught to use the Hiding in Mist technique. His training in stealth has primarily revolved around this technique, allowing him to use his Suiton Release to generate large clouds of mist or fog that he can slink through to attack or escape. Since he has spent most of training using this ability, his stealth capabilities in other situations has suffered slightly.
Lying in wait to be awoken, Hideyoshi possess the ability to one day combine Suiton and Katon and use Boil Release to not only access its normal techniques but also eventually use the effects of the release to further speed up and empower his storm-like blend of taijutsu and kenjutsu.
