Who am I? I am Akiyama Sayuri, part shinobi and part seamstress. Full-time work-a-holic, baby! There isn't much else to me. I like long morning walks and keeping busy. Hmm... Yeah I don't actually live with my family anymore, but I send money every now and then when I have some to spare. I love them a ton, but I haven't seen them since I decided to become a shinobi. Being kicked out and disowned in every way but name tends to lead to that... But hey, at least my siblings don't seem to hate my guts as much. 

I grew up with my family - big fans of the empire and the whole samurai business if you was my father - but we are pretty mixed. I am not sure where we are from, but I was born in Hi no kuni and neither of my parents have ever really discussed their heritage with me. Though it is pretty clear they aren't normal. Father has flaming red hair and tans pretty easily, always been handy with a brush and parchment. Never met anyone who could write as fast as him. Mother is pale as the moon and burns easier than straw in a heatwave. Her hair is brown with white streaks through it, though she is adamant it is not from age. Pretty sure she is lying, but whatever. My siblings and I are a rowdy bunch and there never was a dull moment when we were together, troublemakers, too. But good kids. Never caused too much trouble and always quick to help each other get out of a sticky situation. Love 'em all to bits. 

Our family name is from the big mountain my father's great-great-great-great grandfather lived by. In autumn the trees on it would turn a wonderful shade of red and since that old geezer had lived there since forever he was known as the Old Man up by Akiyama - eventually, it became Old Man Akiyama. Or at least that is how my father tells the story. 

My mother really - and I mean really- wanted me to become a seamstress, but while it is useful and I earn a bit of extra ryo on the side now, it is not my calling. My father tried to get me into the whole transcribing business, but making big signs for businesses and scribbling down every word out of someone else's mouth? Bleh, no thank you, mister. So how did I end up here? A shinobi of all things. Well, that is for me to know and you to wonder about. 

Oh I forgot all about my uncle! Shit! He is really cool. Or he was. He taught me a lot about myself and my family, though he never mentioned my father much and avoided the topic like the plague... He was the one who taught me how to awaken my inner Uzumaki. It is pretty cool to be able to summon these chains, but I wish he had left me with more than dusty old scrolls about a lost clan. I miss him dearly and I plan to keep my promise to him. I will find him or at least find out what happened to him.

How I am as a person? Oh, that is a tough one. My best friend says I am very private, but an absolute basket case once you get to know me. A little rude, if you ask me. Practical and a little too creative at times. Pushy, too, which... I have to agree with. I don't like secrets being kept from me. I am a little bit of a perfectionist, too. I like to think I am a rather rational person, too. Hmm... I like tea, boiled fish - yes, I know it is super plain-, and mooncakes. I am not sure that tells out anything about me...

I have been told I am pretty resilient, bounce back pretty quick, and all that. I wouldn't say I don't experience bad things, but I can let them control me or I can be free and do things regardless of what has happened to me. Life isn't as dark and gloomy as it might seem at times, ya know?
