Rising Spirit uses a simple tiered system to help keep everyone in the same context when it comes to character abilities. There is no math involved, we simply provide loose guidelines for you to use when you describe what your character can do.

A legion of Imperial Ashigaru have descended on a small town. The Sound Village has deployed a large resistance force to save it, employing auxilary forces hired from other villages and independent mercenaries. Will a common enemey be enough to cohese patchwork units made up of rivals together, or will Onomichi burn to the ground?

The Hidden Cloud Village, Kumogakure, is situated in the North East and built on platforms and carved into tall mountain peaks. It has a cool coastal climate. Shinobi of Kumogakure are conditioned to the towering heights and narrow walkways, but vertigo is common for visitors.

The Hidden Mist Village, Kirigakure, is located on the western side of the main Island of the Land of Water. Humidity in the area is very high, and natural fog is a norm in the area. The village has large shipyards on its coast and its infrastructure inside is well kept- but dreary.

The Hidden Rain Village, Amegakure, recently usurped the Hidden Sand as the region's dominant shinobi village. Amegakure is the most technologically advanced city in the world. The rain soaked plains surrounding it have heavy military traffic due to proximity to the imperial border.

The Hidden Sound Village, Otogakure, rose to prominence after the fall of Konohagakure at the hands of the Taiyou Empire. The village itself is spread out across a large territory, made up of hideouts that have been interconnected by underground tunnels.

Situated in a temperate mountain range in the Northwest, Iwagakure enjoys relative solitude due to the difficulty in reaching it. With the removal of Konohagakure from the picture, Amegakure has become its biggest competitor in the region.

Warning - Enemy encounters with NPCs can occur at any time, all threads within the territory are death enabled.

The Taiyou Empire controls the majority of the territories of the Lands of Fire, Tea, and Rivers. Footmen led by powerful samurai roam the territories on horseback and are extremely hostile to outsiders. Rumor has it that Konohagakure has become the seat of the Empire, but keeps people trapped inside just as much as it keeps people out, so news is scarce.

Writing letters is the best way to communicate over long distances. There is little privacy in the shinobi world, so be care with who you write and where you write to.
